Few sports have handed down a wardrobe this intact. The pleated skirt, the collar, the sweater over the shoulders have all outlived the courts they were invented for.

The looks here run from strict to loose. All white with green trim for anyone actually keeping score, navy and pleats for the club courts, a sweatshirt pulled on over a dress for the walk back to the car, red shorts and a ringer tee for an afternoon where the score stops mattering by the second set.

Pearls, a gold watch, a leather racket cover. None of it necessary, all of it worth having.
